212 Acres Thomas County
This beautiful tract is full of the flavored longleaf pine trees with wiregrass understory. The terrain is hilly for the southern coastal plains, but is considered rollings hills by most of the locals. A pond is located in almost the middle of the property just down from the peak of the hill. This hill top would make a wonderful homesite with a view of the pond in the backyard. The timber is a mixed age class of 80 year old, 50, 30, and some 20 year old Longleaf pine trees plus numerous seedlings and saplings. Periodic thinnings has the timber in an excellent growing condition and stocking.
A powerline spilts the fields and provides an excellent resting area for our numerous mourning doves. The field is rented to a farmer who grows cotton with rotations of peanuts. A small 10 acre dove field to the north of the pond is planted just for doves and could be converted to a duck pond. (click on each photo to enlarge it)
